One of the Greatest Cornerbacks in Chiefs History
Dale Lavelle Carter was a first round draft pick for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1992 NFL draft. He was the 20th overall pick, and Carter definitely lived up to his draft status.
Dale Carter played seven seasons for the Chiefs and was a 4X Pro Bowler during that span.
One of his best seasons was his rookie year: Carter had seven interceptions that season. One of those INTs he ran back for a touchdown.
Carter made 23 interceptions during his seven years with the Chiefs. He also recovered nine fumbles. He also had 150 solo tackles in his career.
Carter was also a fantastic athlete. He returned punts for the Chiefs, and his rookie year of 1992 he ran two punts back for touchdowns.
He was even used as a wide receiver by Coach Marty Schottenheimer several times–most of his targets were in 1996, and Carter did score an offensive touchdown that year as a wide receiver.
Carter was the 1992 NFL Rookie of the Year and the 1992 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. Carter also made the 1992 NFL All-Rookie Team.
Carter was a six time All Pro in ’94, ’95, ’96, ’97 voted by UPI, Pro Football Weekly, Associated Press, and Sporting News.
In 1999, Carter joined the Denver Broncos through free agency, then played four more seasons for the Vikings, Saints, and Ravens.

Well, that’s why Dale Carter may not want the Chiefs to beat the Ravens in 2020…you see, Dale’s son Nigel Warrior signed a free agent contract with Baltimore after not getting drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Sports Illustrated reported on April 26, 2020 that the Ravens are giving Warrior an opportunity to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
Warrior is not a cornerback like his dad–he plays Safety, and will be battling for a spot on a Raven’s roster that is already known to have quality defensive back talent in general.
The Ravens have become a big rival to the Kansas City Chiefs, as both teams now have superstar quarterbacks and are predicted by many experts to be contenders for the AFC Conference title this year.
So, this is why Dale Carter might become a Ravens fan.
Carter was one of the greatest cornerbacks to ever wear the red and gold. He will always be loved and admired by Chiefs fans–even if he is spotted in Baltimore cheering for the Ravens this year.
